Taylor Wholesale Florist was founded in November of 1972 by William Buchanan “Buck” Taylor. With decades of experience working in other wholesale houses in the Houston area, Buck decided to plant his flag in the Houston floral wholesale market and create a family legacy by going into business for himself with the full support of his wife and son, Keith. Following graduation from the University of Houston with a degree in Accounting, Keith was very instrumental from the very beginning, helping his father by handling the accounting and recordkeeping for the new company.
Throughout the 1970’s, father and son continued to cultivate and grow the business. As they added customers and employees, Keith brought educational and economic proficiency as well as a defined management style. At the point when he became a CPA, Keith gained valuable experience in the private sector, having taken a position with Coopers & Lybrand™. When he returned fulltime to Taylor Wholesale in the 1980s, Keith brought with him an energy and progressive attitude that have firmly established Taylor Wholesale, more than tripling it in size.
Keith has continued the family’s legacy of continuous growth for the company, and, alongside a merger with “Miles of Smiles” in 2017, has added to the vitality, viability and collective experience of the Taylor Wholesale team. With over 50 years in the business and no matter what situations have arisen, whether it be floods, hurricanes, pandemics and resulting supply chain issues, change is inevitable, and our Taylor Wholesale team is up to and ready for any challenge.
